Very nice. Will this be available via download? (Sorry if I missed somewhere that it would or wouldn't be.) Congrats to Adrian and the Trio on another great project!
the keyboard sounds are generated from guitar via something called midi. it allows me to play guitar through the keyboard sounds I create. so even though there are many parts in the record "e" they are all made by just the trio all at once. phew, what a long-winded answer. "e" is actually one 43-minute piece. but I sub-divided it into 5 sections (a,b,c,d,and e) and further into sub-sections when necessary. for example "a" has 3 different sections so one is called "a" one is "a2" and a third is "a3". I really would have preferred to have NO track markers: one big piece. but for those listeners who would perhaps want to skip a certain part I made it into 11 different tracks. they are:
Wow, cool explanation Adrian. Any chance of us hearing the complete 43 min. piece in it's entirety when y'all play The Bijou on the 21st? PlEasE, plEasE, plEasE. I think that would be a kick-ass way to open the show.
I like DoctorJimmy's idea but if you only do that once, make it the Annapolis show! (Sorry Dr. J)
My copy arrived in the mail on Friday but I'm just now sitting down for my first "proper" listen. Fantastic, Fabulous, Fascinating and Fierce. Your Fanatical Followers will Fall down and Flail wildly in Fitful Fancy.
The more I listen to "e" the more I like it. I hear KC in it as well as themes carried over from Sides One-Three. Fabulous stuff and can't wait to hear it live on the 30th! Front row, too. :D
All I can say is wow, this is fantastic work... how you switch sounds and trigger loops without tying yourself in knots is beyond me, I have a hard enough time just switching pickups or riding the volume knob in mid-song...
I get so electric when I listening that, actually I like to be into parties an enjoy this kind of music, it's exciting because everybody dance without worrying what's going on next.

Based on the samples, I hear some strong Crim influence in "C" and some Beatbox guitar in "E."
ReplyDeleteIs this an intentional extension of those motifs?
