    That is very depressing.

    At the same time I hear the news people talk about the discovery of Kepler 22-b.

    "Weee, we can don't have to worry about this planet anymore, there is another one out there we can trash!"

    Some more information. Although still very sad, there are other black rhino subspecies that are out there, all are critically endangered, but seem stable, at least for now. The Western Black Rhino is indeed declared extinct.
